Months of symptoms, ten minutes to explain them

Perimenopause can go on for years, and most of it happens at night or in the middle of something else. When you finally sit down with a doctor, you have ten minutes and a memory of how last month felt. Tidewell gives you the record instead: dates, counts, and patterns on one page you can both read.

How it works

  1. 1. Log in seconds

Tap once on the Lock Screen when a hot flash hits. Answer a few questions in the morning. That is the whole habit.

  2. 2. Tidewell finds the pattern

Weeks of taps become counts, averages, and a chart of what changed, with the day you started a treatment marked on it.

  3. 3. Bring the one-page report

Pick a date range and Tidewell lays out a single page a clinician can read in a minute. Print it, save a PDF, or show your phone.

What your doctor sees

One page, in the order a clinician reads it: what is happening, how often, what you have tried, and what you want to ask. This is a sample with made-up data.

Questions for today

  1. Is the patch dose right, or should it change?
  2. Could the brain fog be something other than perimenopause?
  3. What are my options for sleep besides the patch?
  4. Do my cycle changes need checking?

Hot flash score adds severity weights: mild 1, moderate 2, severe 3. Unrated taps count as moderate.

Sleep times came from Apple Health on 41 of 56 nights and were entered by hand on the rest.

Entered by the patient in Tidewell. Not a diagnosis.

Sample report with example data, not a real person. The real report prints to US Letter or A4, or saves as a PDF, and includes only the sections you have data for.

What Tidewell does

One tap from the Lock Screen, even at 3 a.m.

A Lock Screen widget, a Control Center button, the Action button, or Siri can log a hot flash or night sweat without unlocking your phone. Add severity and triggers later, or never.

A morning check-in that takes a minute

Sleep quality, wake-ups, night sweats, mood, energy, and any symptoms worth noting, on one screen. Sleep times fill in from Apple Health if you let them.

Trends with your treatment dates on them

Four, eight, or twelve weeks of hot flashes, sleep, and mood as simple charts. The day you started or stopped a treatment is marked, so you can see what changed after it.

Works with Apple Health, if you want

Tidewell can read sleep, wrist temperature, and heart rate variability from Apple Health, and write hot flashes, night sweats, and mood back so your records stay together. It is off until you turn it on.

Screens shown are illustrations of the app's design. Screenshots will replace them at launch.

Private by design

Your data stays on your phone. There is no account to create and no password to forget. Tidewell has no servers, so nothing you log is uploaded, sold, or shown to advertisers. If you turn on iCloud sync, a copy lives in your own iCloud account, which Tidewell cannot see. Delete the app and the data goes with it.

Read the privacy policy. It is short.

You do not need an Apple Watch

Tidewell works fully on an iPhone alone. If you wear an Apple Watch, you can log from your wrist and the report can include wrist temperature, but nothing in the app is missing without one.

Questions people ask

Is Tidewell available now?

Not yet. Tidewell is being built for iPhone. Join the waitlist and you will get one email when it is out.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

No. Tidewell works fully on an iPhone alone. An Apple Watch adds logging from your wrist and wrist temperature in the report, and nothing is missing without one.

Where is my data stored?

On your phone. There is no account and Tidewell has no servers. If you choose to turn on iCloud sync, a copy is kept in your own iCloud account, which Tidewell cannot see. Deleting the app deletes the data.

Can I log a hot flash without unlocking my phone?

Yes. A Lock Screen widget, a Control Center button, the Action button, or Siri can log a hot flash or night sweat while the phone is locked. You can add severity and triggers later, or not at all.

Does Tidewell diagnose or treat anything?

No. Tidewell is a journal and a report. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice. It helps you notice patterns and show them to a clinician who can.

Does it work with Apple Health?

If you want it to. Tidewell can read sleep, wrist temperature, and heart rate variability from Apple Health, and write hot flashes, night sweats, and mood back. It is off until you turn it on, and you choose each direction separately.

What is on the report?

Your chosen date range, hot flashes and night sweats by week with any treatment start dates marked, sleep, other symptoms with how often and how severe, mood and energy, periods if you have them, current treatments, and the questions you want to ask. It fits on one page, US Letter or A4.

Is it for perimenopause too?

Yes. Most people who use a symptom journal are in perimenopause, when symptoms and cycles are changing and hardest to describe from memory.
